North State Symphony Presents “Infectious Rhythms”

This week’s program  is dedicated to northern California’s North State Symphony and their upcoming concerts in both Redding and Chico this coming weekend, November 11 & 12.  We’ve just heard violinist Chloe Trevor performing the Largo movement from Vivaldi’s “Winter” movement of the well-known Four Seasons.  Chloe is the featured guest soloist in the concerts, and will perform the passionate ‘Tzigane’ by Ravel and the world premiere of a new violin concerto by local composer and professor of Music Dan Pinkston.  In this program you will hear highlights of the concert, including the ‘Roman Carnival Overture’ by Berlioz, Stravinsky’s incomparable Firebird Suite, and a wonderful musical “travelogue” of Mexico by Jose Pablo Moncayo.  The centerpiece of the program will be an interview with conductor and artistic director Scott Seaton, who will talk about the music and performers in these concerts.  So take a listen to this program of beautiful and exciting classical music right here on Intermountain Classics!
